Love it or hate it**, ‘prepping’ is becoming a way of life for many Catholics and with World War III brewing – or, some may say, already begun – our thoughts naturally turn to things both eschatological and practical. Damian Keller leads this article with a short reminder of our spiritual obligations and focus at this time.

Below that, you will find links to some helpful videos concerning practical considerations. These are not created by Catholics and are merely representational – there is a vast amount of information available for those who want to dive deeper into how and why we should make physical preparations.

Spiritual ‘prepping’

One thing that we should be doing as faithful Catholics with Christ as Supreme Leader of the Church is to have our lanterns with a sufficient amount of oil so that when the flame is put to it the light shines forth making the surrounding darkness to retreat. Our light is Christ. The lantern is the Church. The oil is all of His words, Our Blessed Mother, the Apostles and all of the Saints, the councils, the approved writings and so on that have flowed from Him to the Church.

We have been forewarned of things that would follow disobedience to His commands as laid out in both Divine and Church law. He tells us how we may walk the narrow path in the Beatitudes which also serves as a tool of discernment. He sends us warnings when we venture amongst thorns and towards the abyss.

We are seeing in our present times those things warned of. False Shepards, those posing as Christ and their lies, warnings in the sky, the earth itself become disturbed, wars, the confusion, the chaos, the demonic.

Take care that your lamp has sufficient oil so that it is lit and remains so that when Our Lord’s hand comes against the world you may be found waiting for Him.

Humble yourself, read good books, attend Mass often, receive communion reverently, pray your rosary daily. Time is short.

Ave Maria!

Damian
